Fusho Zen Institute's Kado program focuses on

understanding the essence of Kado, the Way of the Flower.

While it is necessary to master the form and techniques for arranging flowers,

Kado is not complete without the principle manifesting in the arrangements.

Understanding the principle is not enough.

The person making the arrangements must embody the principle.

The principle we are addressing is something possessed by all things

(form), although it may not necessarily be visible.  To use an analogy,

a fish swimming against current encounters difficulties swimming,

but a fish swimming with the current will swim effortlessly

unaware of the current:  its movements are that of the current.

Please bring your shears and

kenzans if you have them.

Flowers, meals, and loaner

vaseswill be provided.

Comfortable clothing is recommended;
